He’s the inventor of the parking meter, which was first installed on
this day in Oklahoma City, in 1935. The original is on display at the Oklahoma Historical Society. To help celebrate we’ll be joining Gus’s Hot Dog Cart, at 5th & South St, to provide free Hot Dogs to the Philly Parking Authority folks working on South St that day.

Join us 5 pm at Pretzel Park in Manayunk (corner of Roxborough Av & Cresson St) for this summer’s Lucky’s Last Chance annual Wiener Race to benefit the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS).

Saturday, July 27th (changed due to weather), Honoring Hot Dog Pioneers of Philadelphia
Max and Ida Kravitz had a Hot Dog push cart at the corner of 4th and South St, in the 1930’s. Their son started Lenny’s Hot Dog stands around Philadelphia. Meet their grandson, Bryan Kravitz of Philly Typewriter at 1439 E. Passyunk Av starting 2 pm for a Hot Dog giveaway.

Friday July 21st from 5 – 8 pm: We’ll be enjoying Hotdogs at the Community Fun Day Celebration, 39th and Olive Sts
Monday July 24th – Monday July 31st: Donate blood at the American Red Cross and get a FREE Hotdog at Pat’s Steaks, 9th & Wharton Sts
Tuesday July 25th: We’ll be serving a hotdog lunch for the children at the Philip Temple Methodist Church bible camp, 3rd and Fitzwater Sts
5th Annual Lucky’s Great Wiener Race
The 5th Annual Lucky’s Great Wiener Race will be held on July 26th, 6 pm, at the 4421 Main St Manayunk location. This yearly fund raiser for PAWS (Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society) means that $1 from every hotdog on their special PAWS hot dog menu for the entire month of July and 100% of the sales from Neshaminy Creek Brewing beers on race day go to PAWS.
We encourage everyone to stop by and enjoy a delicious Hotdog and cold beer to help support a good cause.

Featuring local historian Joel Spivak, Bryan Kravitz (of Lenny’s Hot Dogs), and Len Davidson of Philadelphia’s Neon Museum, who will speak about the Levis Hot Dogs legacy. This program is in partnership with National Hotdog Month in Philadelphia.
Program begins at 1 pm in the Main Gallery
Hotdogs & refreshment sampling to follow in the Museum’s Marian Mitchell Garden.
Celebrate 2nd Friday on Lancaster Avenue
Join us to help celebrate 2nd Friday on Lancaster Ave, at the Blue Grotto, 3500 Lancaster Ave, July 14th from 6 – 8 pm. We’ll be honoring the memory of the Blue Grotto’s creator Randy Dalton and handing out FREE Hotdogs.
